Back Office/Call Center Corporate Site Selection
Buildings used as back offices/call centers are seldom seen or visited by the general public. Thus, existing spaces that are relatively undistinguished, easily retrofitted, and available inexpensively for short-term lease are ideally suited to these applications.
In contrast, workforce requirements for back offices/call centers are more complicated.
For telephone sales and customer service, communities or regions where residents have “neutral” accents are most desirable. Within them, there needs to be an abundant pool of tech-savvy labor who are articulate, easily trained, and available at moderate cost.
While back offices/call centers do not require industrial-sized utilities, they do necessitate a reliable, high quality electrical supply along with a significant telephone infrastructure that can reliably support high volumes of call traffic.
Incentive negotiations are important as a way to procure necessary utility, telephone, and Internet infrastructure improvements. And they are also desirable to offset significant training costs for new employees.
Far too many site selection consultants treat corporate site selection as if it were merely a change in geography for a company—especially if they approach the project from other disciplines such as accountancy or commercial/industrial real estate.
Ady International Company is unique in that any corporate site selection consultation we undertake for you is personally led by our president Robert M. Ady, a site selection expert who has identified more prime locations for corporations in the U.S. than any other individual.
